The Kwara State Government has issued a directive urging all public sector workers who have not yet registered with the Kwara State Residents’ Registration Agency (KWSRRA) to complete the process immediately. Starting in November, workers who fail to register will not receive their salaries or bonuses.
The state’s Commissioner for Finance, Hauwa Nuru, made the announcement in a statement issued on Monday in Ilorin. She explained that the registration, which began in July, is a crucial part of the state’s efforts to establish a comprehensive and accurate database for planning, resource management, service delivery, and public safety.
“The KWSRRA is legally empowered to gather data on every resident in the state and assign unique identities to ensure more effective governance,” Nuru stated. She emphasized that the registration is part of the administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability in resource management.
The commissioner further explained that all state employees, including those in the 16 local government areas, were required to register. “Effective from November, workers who have not completed their registration will not be paid their salaries or bonuses,” she said.
Nuru highlighted the importance of the KWSRRA registration in enhancing the state’s payroll system, improving service delivery, and strengthening public trust in government processes. “A complete and accurate database will allow for better resource allocation, ensure fair compensation for all workers, and improve decision-making,” she noted.
She urged all state employees who have yet to register to visit the nearest KWSRRA centre without delay to ensure they are included in the payroll for November.
