The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, has urged Nigerian Muslims to pray for peace, unity, and national development during the holy month of Ramadan.
Issa-Onilu made the call in a statement issued on Saturday by the agency’s Deputy Director of Media and Communication, Paul Odenyi. In his message, the DG encouraged Muslims to use Ramadan as an opportunity for spiritual reflection, increased devotion, and acts of charity in line with the teachings of Islam.
As part of his 2025 Ramadan message to the nation, Issa-Onilu emphasized the importance of collective prayer for the country’s development, irrespective of religious or political affiliations. He said, “For the development of the country, all citizens must pray for peace and unity irrespective of one’s religious and political affiliation.”
Issa-Onilu further urged Muslims to renew their commitment to Allah and take full advantage of the spiritual opportunities Ramadan offers. “This is a sacred period of reflection for self-renewal and the way to move humanity forward,” he said.
The NOA DG also encouraged citizens to use the holy month to continue praying for the present administration and the overall progress of Nigeria, emphasizing the agency’s ongoing commitment to the country’s greatness.
