Nottingham Forest Boss Provides Injury Update on Awoniyi

The manager of Nottingham Forest, Nuno Espirito Santo, revealed that Taiwo Awoniyi would miss the team’s upcoming matches against Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Injury kept Awoniyi out of Forest’s 1-1 draw with Luton Town prior to the international break.

He was also forced to miss Nigeria’s friendly match against Ghana and Mali due to the injury.

Santo revealed that the striker is yet to recover from the injury.

“It is a big blow for us because he (Awoniyi) had just come back (from injury). The importance of Taiwo is huge. He gives us another option,” Santo was quoted by NottinghamshireLive.

“I don’t know exactly how long he will be out for but I am positive we are going to see him again this season. He will definitely miss these two games.”

The 26-year-old has scored six goals in 17 league appearances for the Reds this season.
