Nottingham Forest are hopeful that Ola Aina will sign a new deal soon.
Aina is in the latter months of his deal with the Premier League club.
The Nigeria international would be free to negotiate with another club outside of England at the start of next year before leaving as a free agent next summer.
According to The Athletic, the full-back is now nearing a new deal and a bumper pay rise with Forest.
The 28-year-old joined the Tricky Trees on a free transfer last summer.
Forest triggered the one-year option in his contract before the start of the current season.
He has scored twice in 34 league appearances for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
