The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,850 personnel to ensure a smooth and secure yuletide celebration in Kogi State.
A statement issued on Friday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Aliyu, revealed that the personnel were carefully selected by the Kogi State Commandant, Esther Akinlade, from various units, including the Operations Department, Special Rapid Response, Agro Rangers, Female Squad Intelligence, and Critical National Assets Infrastructure departments.
The statement further noted that Commandant Akinlade emphasized that the NSCDC, in collaboration with sister agencies, is committed to maintaining a crime-free environment in the state before, during, and after the festive season.
This is especially important given Kogi’s unique location, bordering nine states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Akinlade also urged the youth to refrain from engaging in any form of social misconduct or illegal activities that could disturb public order, warning that anyone caught would face the full force of the law.
She called on the public to celebrate responsibly and to report any credible information about criminal activities or hideouts to the relevant authorities, thus contributing to the ongoing peace in the state.
