NSCDC FCT Command: Odumosu Charges Personnel To Maintain High-Level Of Professionalism At All Times
The Federal Capital Territory Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Olusola Odumosu has again demanded high-level of professionalism from his personnel as they look to stand up to emerging security challenges in the nation’s capital city.
He stated this on Tuesday during the Passing Out Parade of the Batch B Basic Arms Training, where 137 officers and men passed out.
“Batch A had a record of 135 re-trained officers and men which now brings us to a total of 272 properly re-trained operatives from both batches in less than a year.”
He said the FCT Command could boast of seasoned instructors who know their onions. “We have proven that again. Before I assumed duty here as Commandant, all previous training programmes on weapons handling were either done at our various training schools or by sister agencies.
“It is at this juncture that I want to profoundly thank our Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for this achievement.
“In line with the core mandates of the NSCDC which includes but not limited to the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure and the protection of lives and property in general, it becomes imperative to train and retrain our personnel to be able to stand up to emerging security challenges bedeviling our dear FCT. The officers and men here today have been retrained and equipped with knowledge and skills in weapon handling through months of rigorous regimentation defined by global standards.
“As a result of previous trainings and dedication to work by my men, the Command has made significant arrests for various offenses ranging from: vandalism and theft of public facilities, illegal mining, illegal private guard operation and other vices. With this new set of retrained personnel, the Command is better positioned to deliver on its core mandates.”
