NYSC Announces Opening of 2024 Batch C Stream 2 Orientation Camp, Urges Safety for Prospective Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed that the 2024 Batch C Stream 2 Orientation Camp will officially open on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, across all states in Nigeria. The announcement was made on the NYSC’s official X handle (#officialnyscng) on Tuesday.

In its statement, the NYSC advised prospective corps members (PCMs) to report to their designated camps on the date specified in their call-up letters, with the necessary documents and survival packs in hand. Additionally, the NYSC confirmed the release of deployment letters for Batch C Stream 2, allowing PCMs to access their deployment details and prepare for the year-long service.

As part of its safety measures, the NYSC urged all PCMs to exercise caution during their travel to the orientation camps. In particular, the scheme stressed that PCMs should avoid traveling at night and reiterated its commitment to ensuring their safety throughout the program.

The NYSC also reminded PCMs about an important registration requirement: they must print, sign, and submit an addendum during their camp registration.

For logistical reasons, the NYSC announced that some PCMs originally deployed to Lagos State would undergo their orientation course in Ekiti, Ondo, or Osun camps. Similarly, some PCMs deployed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) may have their orientation in Nasarawa or Kaduna camps.

Prospective corps members have been encouraged to follow official NYSC social media platforms for further updates.

The three-week orientation program, a mandatory part of the NYSC service year, will take place in all designated camps nationwide. Established in 1973, the NYSC aims to foster national unity, integration, and development through its one-year service program, which includes the orientation camp, primary assignments, and community development services.
