Ogun LP hails Abure, calls for reconciliation

The Ogun State chapter of the Labour Party has urged the National Chairman, Julius Abure, to use his recent victory at the Appeal Court to bring unity to all factions within the party. The Appeal Court had reaffirmed Abure’s position as the party’s National Chairman, a decision that the Ogun State chapter hailed as a collective triumph for the party and a reflection of truth, fairness, and justice.

In a statement released on Thursday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Tokunbo Peters, the Labour Party commended Abure for his dedication to upholding the party’s principles and constitution in the face of recent challenges.

The statement read, “The leadership and members of the Labour Party in Ogun State have complete confidence in Abure’s ability, competence, and capacity to lead the party to greater success. His steadfast commitment to the unity, growth, and progress of the party is truly inspiring.”

The party also called on Abure to forgive those who had tried to undermine his leadership and to extend a hand of reconciliation to foster healing.

The statement emphasized the importance of presenting a united front as the party prepares for the 2027 elections. It underscored that now is the time for the party to unify its ranks in pursuit of its mission to rescue Nigerians from hunger, poverty, and poor governance.
