Music lovers are buzzing over a video that went viral showing award-winning musician Olamide, bowing to greet a younger colleague, Omah Lay.
The two musicians met in the widely shared video, and to everyone’s astonishment, Olamide displayed humility by bowing before Omah Lay in spite of his well-established social standing and power. The two had previously collaborated on a song.
The 35-year-old Olamide bowed to greet the 26-year-old Omah Lay, who in turn reciprocated the gesture with the same mode of greeting.
Some ascribed this to Olamide’s disposition of treating everyone with respect, while others saw it as a sign of mutual respect for one another despite their separate professional accomplishments.
