Super Falcons midfielder Chioma Olise is elated after securing her second victory with Trabzonspor Women in the Turkish Women’s Super Lig, following a 2-0 win over Besiktas Women on Sunday. Olise, who made her second appearance for the club, entered the game in the second half as Trabzonspor sealed the win with two goals after the break.
Olise shared her excitement after the match, highlighting the team’s strong winning mentality. “I’m excited about the game. We fought hard for the points and got the result we wanted. We’ll keep up the momentum and approach our next game with full spirit,” she said.
With this victory, Trabzonspor Women now sit in fifth place on the league table with 38 points. Their next match will be an away fixture against Fatih Vatan Spor, currently in eighth place with 24 points, on Sunday, March 16.
Olise joined Trabzonspor from Nigeria Women Football League champions, Edo Queens. She signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with the Turkish club and wears jersey number 16.
Olise’s football journey began with Royal Queens when the team gained promotion to the NWFL Premiership. She rose to prominence at Edo Queens, where she won the 2023/24 NWFL Premiership title under Moses Aduku. Additionally, she helped the team secure the West Africa Zone Women’s Champions League title in Ivory Coast and captained the side to a fourth-place finish at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco.
On the international stage, Olise represented Nigeria at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where the Falconets reached the quarter-finals. She was also part of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup squad in Colombia. In 2024, she received her first call-up to the Super Falcons and featured in the team’s two-legged friendly against Algeria.
