
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially appointed Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, effective Monday, February 17, 2025.
In a statement issued by PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani, it was confirmed that CP Jimoh was previously the Commissioner of Police at the Ports Authority, Eastern Ports, before his latest appointment.
A native of Kwara State, CP Jimoh has had an illustrious career within the Nigerian Police Force, holding several important positions. His past roles include serving as the Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner for Airport Police, Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner for General Investigation.
CP Jimoh has also undergone extensive professional training both locally and internationally. Notable training programs include:
- Combat Operations Course – Mobile Training College, Maiduguri
- African Union Mission – Darfur, Sudan
- Weapons of Mass Destruction Countermeasure Training – United States
- Social Construction and Management Reform Training – China
- Executive Leadership Academy – Pudong, China
- Maritime Rescue and Salvage Training – China Maritime Academy, Ningbo, China
- Anti-Hijacking Techniques and Tactics Training – Yunnan Police College, Kunming, China
- Police Training Institute – Seoul, South Korea
In recognition of his exceptional work in public relations, CP Jimoh was awarded the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.
The appointment was confirmed after CP Jimoh appeared before the PSC on Monday, where he was interviewed by key Commission officials, including Chairman DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje (rtd), and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (rtd).
The PSC’s decision to appoint CP Jimoh is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and ensure efficient and effective policing in Lagos State.
