Ondo Poll: PDP Gov Candidate Urges Residents to Shun Violence

As Ondo State prepares for its upcoming governorship election on November 16, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Festus Akingbaso has called on the people to eschew any forms of violence before, during, and after the election.

Akingbaso, a member of the House of Representatives stated this while addressing the residents of the Idanre community in Idanre Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.

He declared that the PDP would win the forthcoming governorship poll in Idanre and other local governments in the state but told them to shun all acts of violence.

He said, “APC is threatening us that we are not as financially buoyant as them. But we have God. When they give you money, take their money and vote for PDP.

In his remarks, the candidate of the party, Agboola Ajayi, who expressed appreciation to the residents and party leaders in the local government who trooped out to welcome them, urged the people to ensure that they deliver for the party in the November 16 election.

“We are not here to campaign yet. We are here to greet the people over the demise of our late king. No reasonable person should contemplate voting for APC with the level of hardship unleashed on Nigerians.

You have shown that you love us and our party, kindly ensure that you vote and stay with your vote during the poll.”

During the visit, the PDP Local Government Campaign Council was inaugurated by the chairman of the PDP Campaign Council in the state, Eddy Olafeso.

He appealed to the committee members to work assiduously to ensure that they deliver the local government for PDP.
