The Ondo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (OSPHCDA) has presented plans for improved service delivery in the state for 2024 after reviewing its operations for 2023.
The State Immunization Officers and Cold Chain Officers met with the LIOs/CCOs of the 18 LGAs today, Saturday, to discuss preparations for 2024.
The presentation of the 2023 Activities Report, introduction of the 2024 Activities Calendar, creation of micro plans, and defining Action Points for the year were the main agenda items, according to the agency’s official Facebook page.
The meeting also aimed at enhancing immunisation programme coordination, communication, management, and putting in place strategies for effective vaccination preparedness and readiness in 2024.
Permanent Secretary of the PHC, Dr. Francis Adegoke Akanbiemu, commended the LIOs and CCOs for the good work they are doing in their respective LGAs particularly in 2023 while also appreciating the state governor’s, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, support.

“I however charge you to increase efforts in the current year and be more responsive in discharging assigned duties to improve the health status of the people of Ondo State particularly the under-5 children and pregnant women.
“We also appreciate the state governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his support for Primary Health Care.
“The Agency has concluded arrangement to commence the implementation of a programme tagged “Celebration of Family Planning/Immunisation Champions” in communities, which is intended to identify mothers/caregivers who have practiced family planning faithfully and those who have fully immunised all their children with well documented records”.
The State Immunizations Officer, Mrs. Olagunjoye Comfort, thanked the Permanent Secretary in her remarks for his leadership abilities and inventiveness in supporting immunization efforts.
