Oshoba battles Czech’s Volejnikova in UK

Nigerian boxing sensation Elizabeth Oshoba is set to return to the ring on Saturday as she faces Czech fighter Lenka Volejnikova in a highly anticipated showdown in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom.

The WBC Silver Featherweight champion successfully completed her weigh-in on Friday, expressing confidence ahead of the bout.

“Weigh-in done, ready for tomorrow,” Oshoba posted on Instagram, signaling her readiness for the fight.

Currently ranked fourth in the super lightweight division, the 25-year-old boasts an impressive professional record of eight wins, including five knockouts. Her career trajectory has been remarkable, having already secured the IBO Female Super-Featherweight title alongside her WBC Silver Featherweight crown.

Oshoba made history earlier this year when she became the first female Nigerian boxer to win a world title, defeating Italy’s Michela Braga via a 10th-round knockout at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena. That victory catapulted her to No. 5 in the global rankings, ahead of American contender Samantha Worthington.

Determined to reach the pinnacle of world boxing, Oshoba remains focused on securing the No. 1 spot.

“Nothing much to say, I’m aiming for number one. May God help me,” she previously told reporters.

Her bout against Volejnikova is part of the Neilson Boxing promotion card, with fight fans eagerly anticipating another strong performance from the Nigerian champion.
