Victor Osimhen’s future remains in limbo as he continues to impress during his loan spell at Galatasaray, leaving his options open for the summer.
Despite a prolific run in the Turkish Super Lig, where he has scored 14 goals and provided four assists in 19 matches, Osimhen is unsure whether he will make his move permanent.
His current loan from Napoli does not include an option to buy, and although Galatasaray has reportedly shown interest in securing him long-term, Osimhen himself is hesitant about committing.
His uncertainty is underscored by his recent comments to journalists after Galatasaray’s goalless draw with Fenerbahce, where he expressed that he never expected to be at such a prestigious club and is focused on enjoying the present moment.
Despite this, Osimhen’s love for the club is clear, as he emphasized his appreciation for the team and its supporters.
His stance has already led to drama behind the scenes. Despite the clause in his loan deal allowing him to move in January, Osimhen rejected a move to Manchester United, which reportedly angered Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
The situation became even more tense when Galatasaray submitted a €65m bid for the player, which Napoli rejected, stating they would only sell for the full €75m release clause.
Currently, Galatasaray sits atop the Super Lig, six points clear of their closest rivals, and Osimhen’s contributions have played a major role in their strong performance.
As the summer approaches, it remains to be seen whether he will remain in Turkey or explore other high-profile opportunities across Europe.
