Osimhen Matches Lewandowski, Climbs to Third in Europe’s 2025 Goal Scorers Ranking

Victor Osimhen’s red-hot form continued on Friday as the Nigerian striker scored his 17th goal of 2025, drawing level with Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres in third place among Europe’s top scorers this calendar year.

Osimhen struck again for Galatasaray in a crucial clash against Samsunspor, helping the Turkish giants maintain their slim lead at the top of the Super Lig table. His latest goal puts him ahead of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane (14 goals) and Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy (13), trailing only Ousmane Dembélé of PSG (24) and Kylian Mbappé of Real Madrid (19) in the 2025 European scoring charts.

The 25-year-old has now scored 29 goals and recorded five assists across all competitions this season—further solidifying his status as one of the most lethal strikers in Europe.

Relentless in 2025

Osimhen kicked off the year with a goal in a 2–1 victory over Göztepe on January 4 and hasn’t slowed down since. He followed up with goals against Hatayspor, Dynamo Kyiv, Konyaspor, and Ajax in a blistering January run.

February saw him net a brace in a narrow 2–1 win over Rizespor and another strike in a Europa League draw with AZ Alkmaar. In March, he truly caught fire, scoring twice in a 3–3 thriller with Kasimpasa, adding one against Alanyaspor, and capping off the month with a stunning hat-trick in Galatasaray’s 4–0 demolition of Antalyaspor.

April has been no different. Osimhen scored twice in a title-defining 2–1 win over Fenerbahce before adding his latest goal against Samsunspor.

Season Breakdown

  • Turkish Super Lig: 21 goals, 4 assists
  • Europa League: 6 goals, 1 assist
  • Turkish Cup: 2 goals

His firepower has been critical to Galatasaray’s title push, especially after a recent derby defeat to Besiktas trimmed their lead to just three points ahead of arch-rivals Fenerbahce.

Future in Focus

Currently on loan, Osimhen’s future is the subject of growing speculation, with top European clubs reportedly circling. Galatasaray, however, remain hopeful of keeping him longer, and reports suggest a €70 million permanent bid is on the table.

For now, Osimhen’s focus is on helping the Istanbul club reclaim domestic dominance—and possibly go deep in Europe—while continuing to burnish his growing reputation as one of the world’s most dangerous strikers.
