Osimhen rules out Gala Jan exit, eyes trophies

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has allegedly ruled out leaving the Turkish Süper Lig in January, stating that the Nigerian international’s aim is to win titles with the Turkish giants.

Since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September, Osimhen has been in excellent form, scoring 12 goals and assisting five times in 14 appearances in all competitions.

His scintillating form has seen him continually linked with a move away from Turkey. A return to Napoli is very unlikely following a breakdown in the player’s relationship with the club.

English Premier League clubs Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all interested in the Super Eagles striker.

Turkish outlet Fanatik recently reported that United officials have already met with their Napoli counterparts to discuss terms. However, Galatasaray remain adamant about keeping the striker until the end of his loan spell.

Also, Osimhen on his own part has maintained that he does not wish to club the club during the January transfer window.

Confirming the striker’s stance, Nigerian broadcast journalist Buchi Laba, who is close to Osimhen’s entourage, on his X wrote that the Nigerian has turned down several offers as he desires to win trophies with the Yellow-Reds.

“To make this clear as ABC: Victor Osimhen rejected every offer in January 2025 to stay back at Galatasaray for the full season,” the journalist wrote.

“Yes there’s legit concrete interest but the plan has always been to stay at Galatasaray for the full season and win trophies with the team.”

Despite the striker’s stance, former Galatasaray coach Hamza Hamzaoğlu believes the Turkish club cannot afford a permanent deal for Osimhen, potentially opening the door for United or Arsenal to secure his services.

Galatasaray are on the verge of securing their 25th Süper Lig title, sitting eight points clear at the top of the league table and sixth in their Europa League group standings.
