The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo State, Ajiboye Omodewu, is dead.
The APC Publicity Secretary in Oyo State, Olawale Sadare, confirmed the development to Newsmen on Monday.
“Our chairman is dead,” he simply said.
According to reports, Omodewu left Nigeria in November 2023 for a medical trip.
He was said to have succumbed to death after close to a year of receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment in the United States, where he was a citizen.
In 2021, Omodewu was elected chairman of Oyo APC.
Omodewu, who hailed from Otu in Itesiwaju Local Government Area (LGA) of Oyo State, was born on April 16, He served as a commissioner under the administration of the late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
He had his secondary education at Baptist Modern School, Otu, and Ansar-u-deen High School, Saki.
He obtained his A-level certificate in accounting at the Yaba College of Technology and earned a B.Sc in accounting at the City University of New York.
He recently completed his law degree and law school.
