
The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) leader, Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, has passed away at the age of 97.
The respected elder statesman and former Federal Commissioner for Information died on Monday, February 17, 2025.
A statement confirming his death was released by a representative of the family, Prof. C. C. Clark, on Tuesday. It read, “The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, OFR, CON, on Monday, February 17, 2025.”
The statement also expressed gratitude for the prayers and support received during this difficult time, adding that further details about the burial and funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Clark was a prominent figure in the Niger Delta region and played a vital role in advocating for the rights of the South-South people. His passing is a significant loss for the region and for Nigeria as a whole.
