PCNGi Links Karu Bridge Tanker Explosion to Possible Brake Failure, Promises Full Investigation

The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGi) has suggested that a possible brake failure could have caused the deadly tanker explosion near Karu Bridge on the Abuja-Keffi road on Wednesday evening. The organization has vowed to conduct a comprehensive investigation to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident.

The explosion, which occurred in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), led to several vehicles being destroyed, though the exact number of casualties remains unclear as of this report.

In a statement released by PCNGi, the group expressed deep sorrow over the accident, offering condolences to the victims and their families. The statement also noted that initial reports pointed to the involvement of a bi-fueled petrol tanker, with some preliminary accounts suggesting a potential brake system failure as the cause of the explosion. However, the group emphasized that it would be premature to speculate before the official investigation concludes.

“Our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and all those affected by this devastating incident,” the statement said. “While preliminary reports indicate a brake failure leading to the explosion of the petrol storage tank, we urge the public to await the outcome of a thorough investigation to confirm the exact cause of the accident.”

PCNGi has reassured the public that a detailed probe will be conducted to uncover the facts surrounding the tragedy.
