The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in last Saturday’s Ondo State governorship election, Hon Agboola Ajayi, has officially rejected the election results.
Ajayi announced that he would approach the election tribunal to seek justice, alleging that the process was marred by criminal actions orchestrated by both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Ayo Fadaka, Ajayi expressed his concerns about the integrity of the election, claiming that investigations uncovered efforts to undermine the will of the people.
He criticized INEC’s conduct of elections since the APC came to power in 2015, accusing the commission of hijacking the electoral process.
Ajayi called for a fair and just judicial system to address electoral malpractice, stating that the fight for justice was necessary for the well-being and progress of the nation.
He reiterated that the PDP rejected the results of the November 16 election and would pursue legal action to challenge them, expressing hope for justice from both the judiciary and God.
