PDP Governors Unite at Ondo Rally, Urging Voters to Support Party Candidate

Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, gathered on Tuesday at the Ondo State governorship rally to reinforce their united front amidst recent controversies regarding the removal and counter-removal of national party officials.

As Chairman of the Ondo State Governorship Campaign Council, Adeleke addressed party members, asserting that the PDP is a strong family committed to unity and respect for the party’s constitution. He urged supporters to turn out in large numbers to back the party’s candidate in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke encouraged Ondo voters, stating, “Go out and cast your votes for Agboola. PDP remains the one and only alternative for a better today and tomorrow for Ondo people.”

Governor Seyi Makinde echoed Adeleke’s call for unity, emphasizing that the people of Ondo should show their commitment to good governance by supporting the PDP candidate in the upcoming polls. He highlighted the PDP as the best choice for delivering democratic benefits to the masses in Osun and across Nigeria.

Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State Bala Muhammed, reassured the audience that there are no factions within the party. “There is no faction in the PDP. We are one. You can see how we are demonstrating love and unity. We are putting our house in order,” he stated.

Acting PDP Chairman Usman Damagun also urged voters to support the party, reinforcing the message of unity among the governors.

Former Ebonyi Governor Sam Egwu called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to uphold democracy in Nigeria by ensuring free and fair elections. He appealed to Tinubu, whom he referred to as the “father of all,” to resist using federal power to influence electoral outcomes, emphasizing that democracy is strengthened when the will of the people prevails.
