The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) has suspended the party’s National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba and the National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, due to allegations of misconduct.
A statement issued by the PDP National Director of Publicity, Chinwe Nnorom, confirmed that the suspended officials will face a disciplinary committee led by Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja.
The decision came during the NWC’s 593rd meeting on October 10, 2024, where the committee cited allegations of disloyalty and insubordination against Ologunagba and Ajibade.
Following their suspension, the deputies of the two officials are set to assume their roles in an acting capacity, effective October 11, 2024. Ibrahim Abdullahi Manga will take on the role of Acting National Publicity Secretary, while Okechukwu Osuoha will serve as Acting National Legal Adviser.
The statement emphasized the need for party leaders and members to remain focused and committed as the NWC continues to manage the party’s affairs amid ongoing challenges.
The PDP has been grappling with internal strife, particularly surrounding the tenure of Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum and the discipline of party members.
