PDP’s Sheriff defeats Omo-Agege to win Delta governorship poll
Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta, Sheriff Oborevwori, has been declared the winner of Saturday’s Gubernatorial election.
Oborevwori defeated Ovie Omo-Agege, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to be declared the winner on Monday.
The PDP candidate polled 360, 234 votes while Omo-Agege secured 240, 229 votes.
The Labour Party candidate, Ken Pela, polled 48,047 votes.
Oborevwori clinched 21 out of the 25 Local Government Areas of the state leaving the APC with four local government Areas.
Delta INEC Returning Officer, Prof Georgewill Owuneri Abraham, announced the result at the INEC headquarters in Asaba on Monday.
Abraham said, “The PDP candidate, having met the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned as Governor-elect.”
