Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro may have to take a significant pay cut to remain in charge of the team.

Peseiro’s current contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will run out at the end of this month.

The NFF has struggled to pay his monthly stipends and the Super Eagles have also struggled to make impact under his tutelage.

The former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela Saudi Arabia coach currently earns $70,000 per month.

According to ESPN, Peseiro will be asked to take a huge pay cut to remain on the job.

The Portuguese was appointed in May 2022.

The Super Eagles booked their place at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after recording a 3-2 victory against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on Sunday.

The team’s next assignment is against Sao Tome and Principe in September.
