The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has confirmed that the Port Harcourt Refinery will sell petrol at N1,030 per litre, affirming the refinery’s operational status as previously announced by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
In a statement issued on Thursday night, PETROAN spokesperson Joseph Obele relayed that NNPCL had informed the association of the official price for a litre of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at the refurbished refinery. Obele noted, “NNPC Retail Ltd has officially announced the PMS price at the Port Harcourt refinery as N1,030 per litre.”
He also mentioned that the product request portal for bookings and orders is now open, allowing retailers to begin placing orders for the product.
PETROAN, through its strategic pricing team, is currently analyzing the most favorable pricing options for its members and has expressed its willingness to patronize all refineries across Nigeria. The association further urged NNPCL to consider reducing prices further in anticipation of the upcoming festive season, ensuring that Nigerians can enjoy a “joyful Yuletide celebration.”
This announcement follows weeks of speculation regarding the petrol price from the refinery, which commenced full operations and began truck-out of petroleum products earlier this week, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s efforts to revive its domestic refining capacity.
