The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 580 suspects for various crimes, including kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, and other related offenses across the state.
Commissioner of Police Muhammad Rabiu, who presented the suspects at the Command’s headquarters, stated that they were apprehended during operations carried out between December 31, 2024, and February 2025. During these operations, 30 kidnapped victims were rescued, and stolen vehicles, motorcycles, and other items were recovered.
Rabiu further revealed that the arrests included 20 kidnapping suspects, 32 armed robbery suspects, 320 phone snatchers, and five suspected car thieves.
On February 10, 2025, officers from the Gadar Gayan Outpost, acting on credible intelligence, arrested two suspects, Inusa Ibrahim (18) and Hamisu Musa (18), both from Kangimin Gobirawa Village. The duo was caught making phone calls to bandits and providing them with names of individuals to target for kidnapping. During questioning, they confessed to the crime and remain in custody as investigations continue.
Additionally, on January 15, 2025, acting on reliable information about a criminal group involved in motorcycle theft, the Anti-Car Theft Section officers arrested two suspects, Ibrahim Abubakar and Surakatu Usman, in the Mando area.
The suspects admitted to stealing multiple motorcycles, using a sledgehammer to knock victims unconscious or strangling them with a cable wire before fleeing with the bikes. Investigations also led to the arrest of their accomplice, Yahya Muhammad, who acted as the receiver for the stolen motorcycles. Three TVS motorcycles were recovered from the suspects.
