Police Barricade Kaduna Govt House Road Over Violent Protest

Kaduna State Police Command has barricaded the road leading to the Government House in the state capital.

This came after the violence that accompanied the #EndBadGovernance protests in several sections of the state on Thursday, as well as an attempted attack on the state’s Government House by hoodlums.

On Friday, a combined security squad was seen mounting tight surveillance along the road going to the state capital.

To stop criminals from entering the general area and other nearby settlements, a group of police officers, civil defense, and state vigilance service members erected a roadblock along the government house road.

As the demonstration is going on, the police have warned parents and guardians to handle their children with the seriousness that such tendencies merit and have urged them to refrain from engaging in public disturbances.

In a statement released by the state police spokesman, Mansir Hassan, the Command advised groups intending to protest, to liaise with the Commissioner of Police to order to fashion out modalities for a peaceful protest.
