Five individuals, including four boys and a girl, have reportedly died under suspicious circumstances in the Afashio Community, Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The incident occurred last week when family members discovered the lifeless bodies in a room after they had not emerged for some time.
Among the deceased were two brothers, along with three friends, including a female. Family members became concerned and decided to check on them, leading to the grim discovery.
Sources within the community have suggested that food poisoning might be a potential cause, as there were no visible signs of assault or injuries on the victims.
The incident has been reported to the Jattu Police Division, and officials are currently investigating to determine the exact cause of death.
Moses Yamu, the Edo State Command Spokesperson, confirmed that the police are aware of the situation and are actively pursuing an investigation.
