President Resolves Rivers Crisis with stakeholders Present

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may have finally laid to rest the no love lost relationship between former governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike and his successor Similayi Fubara after he mediated in a meeting which had the two warring personalities and some elders of the state at the Presidential Villa.

Some of the resolutions reached at the meeting to foster peace is that :

(1) All matters instituted in court by  Governor Fubara should be withdrawn.

(2) All impeachment proceedings in the state assembly against speaker Martin Amaewhule  should be dropped

(3) Leadership of martin Amaewhule should be recognised as the authentic speaker

(4) Remuneration of all members of state assembly who defected and their staff should be reinstated

(5) The governor shall not interfer in in the funding of the assembly

(6) the assembly shalll choose where they want to gather and perform their duty

(7)the governor shall represent the 2024 budget to the full members of the assembly

(8) The names of commissioners that resigned from the state executive council shall be resubmitted to the assembly for screening and reinstatement.
