President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to building a Nigeria that works for everyone, stressing that his administration is centered around the welfare of the people. While in Lagos for the Christmas and New Year festivities, the President visited Lagos Island on Friday, where he received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the locals.
In a statement shared on his official X handle, Tinubu expressed his gratitude for the reception and reiterated his focus on creating a brighter future for the nation. He wrote, “People are at the heart of our mission. Thank you, Lagos Island, for the warm and rapturous welcome this afternoon.”
The President emphasized the importance of collaboration with the people, stating, “I appreciate your support, which further fuels my determination to create a brighter future for a Nigeria that works for everyone, one we will all be proud to call our country.” He called on citizens to unite in the collective effort to build a better nation. “We must work and pray together for a better country,” he urged.
Since taking office in May 2023, President Tinubu has faced criticism over several reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidies. However, his administration continues to assert that these measures are part of a broader plan to drive economic growth and ensure long-term stability for Nigeria.
