President Tinubu Departs Riyadh Tuesday

President Tinubu is set to depart Riyadh on Tuesday after attending the one-day extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit, convened to address the ongoing situation in the Middle East. His flight is scheduled to depart at 3:40 PM local time.

During the summit, Tinubu called for an end to Israeli aggression in Gaza, emphasizing that “the conflict in Palestine has persisted for far too long, inflicting immeasurable suffering.” He expressed deep concern over the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

The summit, which was a follow-up to last year’s Riyadh summit, brought together Heads of State and Government from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the League of Arab States.

Reaffirming Nigeria’s position, Tinubu reiterated the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and reaffirmed Nigeria’s support for a two-state solution, where both Israelis and Palestinians can coexist peacefully, in security and dignity.

He emphasized that this solution remains essential for achieving lasting peace in the region.
