President Tinubu Launches Geospatial Digital CRVS System

President Bola Tinubu has launched the electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System (CRVS) and the Geospatial Data Repository.

The initiative is aimed at a complete departure from traditional paper-based recording of vital events to a state-of-the-art digital solution that conforms to international best practices.

According to the National Population Commission (NPC), the platform will digitalise all civil registrations such as birth registration, stillbirth registration, birth attestation, adoption, marriage notification, divorce notification, migration and death.

During the launch at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Tinubu said the population remains the greatest asset of the nation in the development process.

“Collecting accurate and reliable information is an essential governance activity which is also consistent with our renewed hope agenda. The commission will therefore be supported in the conduct of the next census,” Tinubu said.

The Nigerian leader also said that his administration is open to business as well as areas of partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
