As he celebrates his 73rd birthday on Saturday, March 29, 2025, President Bola Tinubu will join fellow Muslims at the National Mosque in Abuja for a special prayer session, dedicating the occasion to seeking divine blessings for the nation. The prayer session, scheduled for Friday, March 28, will allow the President to reflect spiritually and offer thanks for the support and preservation he has received throughout his leadership journey.
The announcement was made by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who revealed in a statement on Thursday that the prayer session will serve as both a celebration of the President’s birthday and a moment of gratitude for the strength to lead the country.
The statement, titled ‘President Tinubu To Mark 73rd Birthday with Special Prayer at the Abuja National Mosque,’ highlighted that the President’s birthday falls within the holy month of Ramadan, making it a time of spiritual reflection for both him and the nation. Additionally, the occasion comes two months before the second anniversary of his administration.
Onanuga further emphasized the significance of the prayer session, stating, “On this significant day, the President will dedicate himself to spiritual reflection and supplication for Nigeria’s continued peace, progress, and prosperity. Choosing a prayer session reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to Nigeria’s spiritual and moral well-being, as well as his dedication to seeking divine guidance in leadership.”
The President also expressed his belief in the power of collective prayer, acknowledging its role in uniting the nation and guiding it toward harmony and success. In a bid to include all Nigerians in the occasion, Tinubu invited citizens to join the prayer session in spirit by offering prayers at their places of worship or wherever they may be.
President Tinubu took the opportunity to express his deep gratitude to Nigerians for their unwavering support since taking office. He pledged his continued efforts to advance economic reforms, strengthen national security, and expand opportunities for all citizens.
“I am deeply thankful to Allah for the gift of life and the privilege to serve this great nation,” the President stated. “As I mark another birthday and look forward to our second anniversary, my heart is filled with renewed hope for Nigeria.”
The President urged all Nigerians to continue praying for divine guidance, unity, and healing for the country, stressing that, together, the nation would overcome challenges and create a thriving environment for every citizen.
In closing, President Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating Nigeria’s democratic gains, fostering economic recovery, and promoting national cohesion, encouraging citizens to remain steadfast in their belief that Nigeria is destined to be a beacon of hope for Africa.
