Rapper Blaqbonez hints at retirement
Popular Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has hinted at his intention to retire from music within the next three to five years. The artist, known for his hit songs like Like Ice Spice, revealed his plans during a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
In the interview, Blaqbonez explained that while he remains passionate about his music, he envisions a time when he will step away from the industry to focus on other pursuits. “I will keep making music until I’ve built something that would last me for a lifetime—enough legacy and financial security,” he said. “I project that I’ll be done in the next three to five years.”
The rapper clarified that his retirement from music doesn’t mean he will be leaving the entertainment industry altogether. “After I retire from music, I will find another role within the entertainment space. I would probably work as a consultant for a record label or take on some other behind-the-scenes responsibilities,” he shared.
Blaqbonez’s remarks come as he continues to build his reputation as one of the most innovative and boundary-pushing artists in Nigerian music. While he looks to the future, he remains focused on leaving a lasting impact, both musically and financially, before transitioning to the next phase of his career.
