Protest failed to hold across Enugu, Anambra, Imo, Abia and Ebonyi states on Thursday.
Checks around Enugu Metropolis showed minimal human and vehicular movements as many street shops, banks and petrol stations did not open for business.
Residents believe the protest failed to hold in some states in the region like Imo because of the shootings by gunmen suspected to be enforcing a controversial sit-at-home order.
However, reacting to the rpotests in other states in the country,
Those who spoke, residents in the South-East expressed concerns that the it may escalate to violence, which according to them, will complicate the already bad economic situation in the country, and pose more frustrations on the citizens.
They called on protesters to give government the chance to address the economic challenges and reform the governance system in Nigeria.
They also made ten-point demand on Tinubu to stabilize Nigeria instead of supporting the protest.
