Rihana’s ASAP Rocky to face trial for alleged gunshot incident involving childhood friend

Rakim Mayers, professionally known as Rapper ASAP Rocky, is set to stand trial on charges related to an alleged shooting incident involving his former childhood friend, Terell Ephron.

The incident, which happened two years ago, came to light recently when a video went viral that appeared to show ASAP Rocky allegedly shooting Ephron with a gun.

On the second day of the hearing, it was announced that ASAP Rocky would go on trial for allegedly shooting Ephron during a dispute inflicting him with minor injuries. The musician has pleaded not guilty.

Rocky is now confronted with two felony counts of assault with a firearm, and if found guilty, he could potentially face up to nine years in prison.

The charges stem from an altercation between the rapper and Ephron, who was part of the A$AP’s Mob hip-hop collective and had known ASAP Rocky since their time together in a New York high school.

In a different case, Ephron claims that ASAP Rocky purposefully took him to a secret place outside the W Hotel in Hollywood on November 6, 2021, to address a disagreement. He also claims that he is a victim of assault and violence, carelessness, and emotional distress.

The incident was captured on CCTV, and a video circulating on social media purportedly shows Rakim brandishing and firing a gun.

The legal team for ASAP Rocky, however, disputes that he is the guy shown in the video.
