Sadiq Umar Warns Cyberbullies Over AFCON Loss

Sadiq Umar, a striker for Real Sociedad and the Super Eagles, has issued a warning to cyberbullies not to harass him after the Super Eagles’ 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final defeat to Ivory Coast.

After the game on Sunday, Umar said that some people had been abusing him even though he didn’t participate in the competition.

Social media users have attacked Super Eagles player Alex Iwobi, blaming him for the team’s defeat to the hosts, Cote d’Ivoire. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the Minister of Sports, Super Eagles players, and others have made appeals against cyberbullying as a result of the activities.

In a post shared on his Instagram story, Sadiq Umar warned that he is not Alex Iwobi and will insult anyone who comes for him.

“I no even play you con dey insult me.

“Abeg oo Me, I no be iwobi I go Insult person papa with him mama join. Yes I be dat topical Hausa boy, Abi u see fear for my eyes?”

“Pushing someone into depression & mental breakdown, Yet you want life to be better for you, e no fit ever better for una! Vagabonds!!!” (sic)
