Parma have parted ways with coach Fabio Pecchia after a seven-match winless run which has plunged the team into the Serie A relegation zone.
The club made the announcement late on Monday following a 1-0 home defeat by Roma at the weekend, their fourth loss in a row.
The 51-year-old Pecchia had been in charge since June 2022 and led Parma back into the top flight after winning the Serie B title last season.
Parma are without a win in the league since December 28 and have dropped down to 18th place, one point from safety.
Pecchia, a former midfielder with Napoli, Juventus and Bologna, is the eighth coach in Serie A to lose his job this season.
Local media reports say he will be replaced by former Romania defender Cristian Chivu, who had recently been working with the youth teams at Inter Milan, one of his old clubs.
