The deployment of 40 senior police officers, including 14 Assistant Inspectors General of Police and 26 Commissioners of Police, to various commands and formations in the country has been ordered by the Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun. The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said that the postings and redeployments were aimed at having a professionally competent and people-friendly police force, in accordance with the new status of recently elevated senior officers.
The move followed the approval of the Police Service Commission. The AIGs posted and redeployed are:

The IG charged the newly posted/redeployed officers to align with the force’s policy and support the government’s agenda for economic recovery and growth, as well as the sociopolitical development of the country.
Egbetokun emphasized the importance of professionalism and diligent policing services and urged the officers to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to bring policing closer to the people.
