Shakira’s Lima Concert to Go Ahead After Health Scare

Colombian pop sensation Shakira has confirmed that her concert in Lima, Peru, will take place on Monday, despite a health scare that forced her to cancel a performance just a day earlier.

The 48-year-old singer was briefly hospitalized on Saturday night after a sudden health issue, leading her to call off her Sunday show. However, Shakira took to Instagram on Monday to announce that her highly anticipated concert at the National Stadium in Lima will proceed as planned. The gates are set to open at 4:00 pm (2100 GMT), with the concert scheduled to begin at 8:15 pm. In her post, Shakira did not mention her health status.

Masterlive, the event company organizing the concert, also confirmed the show will go ahead. They assured fans that a new date for the canceled Sunday performance would be announced soon.

Shakira is currently on her first world tour in seven years, titled Las mujeres ya no lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore). The tour began in Rio de Janeiro shortly after she won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album, which she dedicated to migrants facing deportation under former U.S. President Donald Trump.

With over 90 million records sold worldwide and four Grammy Awards to her name, Shakira is one of the most influential Latin artists in history. Her ongoing tour includes nearly 50 dates across Latin America, with plans for additional performances in the United States and Canada later this year.
