Singer Cassie, Diddy settle lawsuit alleging rape

Sean “Diddy” Combs and R&B singer Cassie reached a settlement on Friday regarding the lawsuit filed by Cassie just a day earlier.

The lawsuit had accused the renowned music producer and rapper of rape and physical abuse spanning over a decade.

Both parties have now announced that they have “resolved the claims… to their mutual satisfaction,” as stated by Cassie’s lawyer, while the specific terms of the settlement remain undisclosed.

Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, expressed her decision to settle the matter amicably, citing a desire for a resolution that affords her some level of control.

She conveyed gratitude to her family, fans, and legal team for their steadfast support.

Combs, 54, also released a statement, saying, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best.”

The lawsuit, albeit short-lived, had contained serious allegations from Ventura, claiming that Combs had consistently subjected her to drug and alcohol consumption, coerced her into engaging with male prostitutes, and perpetrated violent acts of rape and abuse from the time they met in 2005 until 2018.
