South Africa’s Ngidi to miss IPL in Fresh Setback for Delhi Capitals

The Delhi Capitals’ preparations for the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season were hampered further on Friday as fast bowler Lungi Ngidi was ruled out of the tournament due to a lower back ailment.

Brook, an England batter, withdrew from the IPL on Thursday due to the loss of his grandmother, leaving Delhi without two vital players for the campaign.

Delhi have picked Australian all-rounder Jake Fraser-McGurk as Ngidi’s substitute.

South Africa’s cricket board (CSA) announced on Friday that Ngidi suffered the injury last month and will not be able to return until April.

Delhi, who finished tenth in the 2023 edition, will begin their season on March 23 against the Punjab Kings.
