Friday Ekpo, a former Nigerian international, is confident that Augustine Eguavoen, the Super Eagles’ interim head coach, would lead the team to success.
The team beat Benin 3-0 to start his rule very well, and then they drew 1-1 with Rwanda in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
Ekpo, however, asserted in an interview with Completesports.com that Eguavoen possesses the skills to restore the Super Eagles to their former dominance.
“So far, so good. I want to say Austine Eguavoen has really done well with the Super Eagles based on the two matches the team played against Benin and Rwanda.
“You can actually see that the team has shown more hunger and determination in their play since he took over.” Yes, he’s currently working on an interim basis, but then I believe he deserves to be given the confidence.
“With him, I am confident the Super Eagles will thrive and soar high again.”
