A tanker explosion in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday morning tragically resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
The incident occurred around 5:00 a.m. near Gabster Mega Petrol Station in Orita Challenge, Oluyole Local Government Area. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver and his motor boy were trapped in the fire and were burnt beyond recognition.
Emergency responders, including the Oyo State Fire Service and local security agencies, quickly arrived at the scene and fought to contain the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby commercial and residential buildings. The fire was reported at 5:15 a.m., and authorities confirmed the situation was under control shortly thereafter.
Moroof Akinwande, Special Adviser on Fire Services Reform to Governor Seyi Makinde, confirmed the incident and praised the quick response of the firefighting team.
