Wizkid, Rema, Asake & Tems Nominated for Favourite Afrobeats at 2025 AMAs
Nigerian global stars Wizkid, Rema, Asake, and Tems have all earned nominations in the Favourite Afrobeats category at the 2025 American Music Awards.
Following a standout 2024, Rema and Tems continue their winning streak. Rema’s sophomore album HEIS and Tems’ highly anticipated debut Born In The Wild both received Grammy nominations — and now, they’re in the running for the AMA. Asake dropped his third studio project Lungu Boy, while Wizkid delivered his sixth LP Morayo, both of which have kept fans and critics buzzing.
The quartet also joined forces on the hit single MMS, which not only earned them Grammy nominations for Best African Music Performance, but also helped secure their spot in the AMAs lineup.
They’ll be going head-to-head with South African sensation Tyla for the coveted award.
Returning for its 51st edition after a two-year hiatus, the 2025 American Music Awards will take place on May 25, airing live on CBS and hosted by Jennifer Lopez.
