Tems Clinches Second Grammy for Best African Music Performance

Afrobeats sensation Tems has earned her second Grammy award, winning the coveted Best African Music Performance at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, held on February 2, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Tems claimed the award for her hit song Love Me JeJe, triumphing over a competitive field that featured prominent Afrobeats stars. The category, which was heavily dominated by Afrobeats artists, also included Burna Boy, Asake, and Wizkid for their collaborative track MMS, as well as Yemi Alade and Chris Brown’s Sensational featuring Davido and Lojay.

The singer, dressed in a stunning ensemble, accepted the golden gramophone from Queen Sheba during the ceremony’s premiere event. Tems’ victory continues to highlight her growing international influence and solidifies her place as a leader in the global Afrobeats movement.
