‘The Origin: Madam Koi Koi’ is Nigeria’s most watched show on Netflix

Jay Franklyn Jituboh, the director of ‘The Origin: Madam Koi Koi’ in a post on Twitter, thanked the cast and crew as he disclosed that the project holds the top spot on Netflix in Nigeria for three weeks running..

The Origin: Madam Koi Koi, written by Jibutoh and Dale Falola, is the tale of a sinister ghost that, after being neglected for decades, reawakens to exact revenge on a society that will ultimately pay a heavy price.

Puzzled by the deaths of three people in the town, two inspectors, played by Deyemi Okanlawonand Baaj Adebule, go out to seek answers and soon get mixed up in the drama.

Among the cast members are Ireti Doyle, who plays the school administrator, Chukwuka Jude, Martha Ehinome, Nene Aliemeke, Tolulope Odebunmi, Omowunmi Dada, Ejiro Onojaife, Chuks Joseph, Kevin T. Solomon, Temidayo Akinboro, Iremide Adeoye, and Racheal Emem Issac.

The film is co-produced by Jituboh and Michael W. Ndiomu.

The premiere date of the first part was on October 31, 2023, while November 7, 2023 was the second part. The Origin joins other Netflix hits that have topped the charts this year, including The Black Book, Ijogbon, and Jagun Jagun.
