Thierry Henry Names Barcelona as Champions League’s Toughest Team, But Points Out Key Weakness

Henry’s comments came after Barcelona's commanding 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their quarter-final tie at Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has hailed Barcelona as the toughest team to beat in this season’s Champions League, despite highlighting a significant weakness in their style of play.

Henry’s comments came after Barcelona’s commanding 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their quarter-final tie at Camp Nou on Wednesday. Goals from Robert Lewandowski (2), Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal secured a dominant victory for the Catalan side.

Speaking during an interview, Henry acknowledged Barcelona’s impressive form but cautioned that their “high line” leaves them vulnerable at times. He noted that while they are outstanding, particularly with the midfield duo of Frenkie de Jong and Pedri, they tend to allow opponents too many chances to score due to the space created by their aggressive defensive setup.

“I’ve said before that they are one of the favourites, if not the favourite, to win the Champions League,” Henry remarked. “They are very difficult to beat, and they can stop a counterattack, but with that high line, they can be exposed.”

Henry’s analysis underscores Barcelona’s brilliance while warning that their attacking approach could leave them open to a surprise defeat as they pursue European glory this season.
