President Bola Tinubu has approved free train rides across the country from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025.
This initiative is aimed at easing transportation costs during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, shared this information with State House correspondents in Abuja.
Idris explained, “As we did last year, there will be free train service available to all Nigerians from December 20 to January 5, nationwide.” He emphasized that this decision aligns with the President’s commitment to alleviating transportation costs, particularly for the most vulnerable Nigerians.
He also reminded the public that similar initiatives were carried out during the previous Christmas and Sallah periods, and the President has approved it once again for this year.
